Safair, the company behind FlySafair, was founded in 1965
and has been a major player in aviation for almost 60 years.
The company brought their experience and expertise to the
low-cost commercial market in 2014 with the launch of FlySafair, opening the skies to many who had never flown before.
Since FlySafair’s launch it has earned many accolades, most specifically for their excellent on time performance ratings from both Cirium and OAG.
In 2023, FlySafair received five awards at the Civil Aviation Industry Awards, including Best Airline Operator/Airline, Aviation Maintenance Organisation Award: Medium - Large, and Aviation Professional presented to CEO Elmar Conradie. The airline also earned the Best Airline Award as voted by the public.
